In Year 2007-2009, Highways Department carried out Phase 1 Public Engagement activities; via focus group meetings, public forums, site visits and other activities that major views of the public were collected. According to more than 40 alignment options of the CKR, we have carried out comprehensive option assessment. In Phase 1 Public Engagement Activities, the public had an extensive discussion on the various alignment options. The public generally agree with the need for the construction of the CKR and generally support for the proposed alignment. The public also generally accept the arrangement for reprovision of public facilities at Yau Ma Tei where is to be affected by the CKR. Yau Tsim Mong, Kowloon City and Kwun Tong District Councils, the Legislative Council and Traffic and Transport Committee also generally support the proposal.
